4 Hole Content Fountain

Hole Overview

imgArchitects Notes by Gil Hanse

As much as variety is the spice of life, it is also the key ingredient to good golf course architecture.
Whereas the 3rd hole is heavily bunkered around the green, the long 4th has no green side bunkering. With the long nature of the approach shot we felt it would be best to give the golfer a little room and to reward creativity around the green through multiple options for recovery shots.

History

he origin of the historical name “Fountain” was named for the drinking fountain by the tee that had been donated by Waverley member Harry Davis.
